By W. A. A.
It arrived timely and was fairly easy to assemble. After a week or two, it started to make a clanging noise. Customer service was excellent. They immediately offered to replace it. They are also quite willing to provide any extra nuts or bolts requested. I got the new treadmill and it was quiet, very quiet (much more so than my Epic treadmill at home). The treadmill is wider and shorter than some of its competitors but works just fine for a 6' foot male. It folds up nicely with the aid of hydraulics. The handle bars seemed unnecessary and got in the way for office use so I removed them and placed bicycle handle bar grips on the short stubs remaining after their removal. The desk is adequately sized and the power strip and cup holders are nice features. However, there's a bit too much movement on the desk top, shaking my monitors, when walking at a brisk pace but not a major issue. Also, the design could benefit by positioning the treadmill further under the desk top so that feet don't kick the cover when close to the desk while walking but walking a bit back from the desk is doable. A wider wrist pad directly behind the key board would also be an improvement. But all-in-all, its been great so far (I've had it about 2 months). I initially planned to order the workfit treadmill desk from Sam's because it was cheaper, but Amazon lowered their price and had free shipping. I ordered the desk on a Sunday and it arrived on Friday, 4-10 days earlier than Amazon's estimate. It arrived in two very large boxes - one for the treadmill and one for the desktop. Paradigm does a poor job of packaging the items. The Safety tether key was hanging out of the desktop box. The treadmill box was badly damaged. The first thing I saw was a big oily spot (the little bottle of oil that comes with it was leaking) and a broken piece. I almost stopped unpacking it and sent it back right then. After unpacking, it was the only broken piece. It was one of the end caps that go on the end of treadmill. I finished putting it together after Paradigm's office closed, so I've emailed them to request a replacement part. The treadmill still functions, but the broken piece sticks out to the side.
The treadmill is much larger than I was expecting, especially the desktop. It is not as easy to get out of the box or put together as the video and description lead you to believe. The holes are hard to line up and bolts and screws are not high quality. They send an Allen wrench to tighten the bolts, but it's easy to strip the heads if you are not careful. I managed most of it on my own, but needed help with the handlebars and desktop. The holes would not line up correctly on the handlebars, so I couldn't get the bolts in. a friend managed after much wrangling. Two people are needed to attach the desktop to the treadmill - one to hold it up while the other one screws in the bolts.
The desktop is large and the power strip on the side is a nice feature. It has two cup holders at the back of the desk that you would need to be Stretch Armstrong in order to reach them. If you tried to use them while walking you'd probably fall off the treadmill because you have to lean your body over the computer controls to reach them. It would be much better and safer if they were positioned closer to the front of the desktop. They could have put the power strip in the back and moved the cup holders on the side. Hopefully Paradigm will address this in future models.
The controls on the handlebars are not ideally placed. If you are using the desk while walking, you need to stand closer to the front and the controls are behind you. If you are just walking and want to use the handlebar functions and heart monitor, they are okay. Another issue for walking and using the desk is that because you need to stand closer to the desk, your feet bump the motor cover at the top of the treadmill.
I ordered a pad to place under the treadmill, but the treadmill doesn't roll onto it. The pad just bunches up when I try to roll the desk onto it. The treadmill would need to be picked up and placed on top of it. It's too heavy to just pick up. The treadmill folds up, but it's not as easy to move around as they lead you to believe. You also need to lower the desktop to move it safely.
I did feel like I got a good workout after lugging it out of the box and spending several hours trying to put it together. I've had the treadmill less than a day, so those are my initial thoughts. I'll update the review after I've used it a little longer and had a response from Paradigm about the replacement part.

By Rebecca
After reading some of the other reviews, I was a little skeptical, just because I didn't want to spend $700 on something I wouldn't be able to use right away. However, after a lot of research into other treadmill desks, this seemed like the best option.
It did show up in two very big boxes. However, mine weren't banged up. No broken pieces. And once I assembled it, everything worked perfectly. I specifically bought this because it said it could handle larger weights at lower speeds for long periods of time. So far, that's been the truth for me. Other treadmills wouldn't be able to handle someone over 250 pounds at low speeds for long times, so if you're over 250 pounds, I kept finding warnings that lighter treadmills wouldn't take it, and I needed a "professional grade" one. However, this treadmill works great.
Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would make it again. It's possible that future models (from this and other companies) would be better options, but as far as I can tell right now, this is the best treadmill desk out there.
